On September 27, 2024, the founding workshop of the Technical Expert Committee for the 17th National 3D Digital Innovative Design Contest - "AMD Cup" AI+3D Innovation Special Competition, as well as the kickoff ceremony for the Jiangsu Division and the Digital Science and Technology Culture Festival, was smoothly convened in the lecture hall of the School of Arts, Jiangsu University. Yang Daojian, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of Jiangsu University, Liu Xiaoqing, Deputy Secretary-General of the Organizing Committee of the National 3D Digital Innovative Design Contest, Ji Zhaohui, Vice President of Marketing for AMD Greater China, Zhao Ming, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Arts, Jiangsu University, Han Rong, Dean of the School of Arts, Jiangsu University, and 22 leaders and experts from Jiangnan University and Southeast University attended the meeting to jointly discuss how to promote the high-quality development of the AI+3D Special Competition and explore the path of AI empowering the development of design education. The meeting was hosted by Sha Chunfa, Associate Dean of the School of Arts.

Yang Daojian, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of Jiangsu University, delivered a speech on behalf of the university. He extended a warm welcome and heartfelt thanks to the leaders and experts from various institutions who participated in the meeting, introduced the century-long history of Jiangsu University, and pointed out that the establishment of the "AMD Cup" AI+3D Innovation Special Competition tightly integrates artificial intelligence technology with 3D design, providing a stage for participants to showcase their innovative thinking and practical abilities.

Liu Xiaoqing, Deputy Secretary-General of the Organizing Committee of the National 3D Contest, delivered a speech on behalf of the organizing committee. He stated that as an important event on the National College Discipline Competition Rankings, the National 3D Digital Innovative Design Contest has been successfully held for 17 consecutive years. To further promote technological and educational training innovation, the organizing committee of the National 3D Contest has partnered with AMD to establish the "AMD Cup" AI+3D Innovation Special Competition, aiming to advance the path of cultivating "new-quality productivity" and "digital intelligence talents."

Ji Zhaohui, Vice President of Marketing for AMD Greater China, presented a special sharing session, introducing the company's achievements in the field of AI chips and analyzing the possibilities of "AI+" as an important aspect of new-quality productivity in research and development, design, and daily life scenarios. Liu Yaxu, the person in charge of the special competition of the National 3D Contest, provided detailed information on the competition's setup, scoring criteria, and other key aspects.

At the meeting venue, a signing ceremony for the hosting rights of the Jiangsu Division of the "AMD Cup" AI+3D Innovation Special Competition was held. Liu Xiaoqing, Deputy Secretary-General of the Organizing Committee of the National 3D Contest, Han Rong, Dean of the School of Arts, Jiangsu University, and Ji Zhaohui, Vice President of Marketing for AMD Greater China, jointly signed the agreement, officially confirming the members of the expert committee and issuing appointment letters.

Finally, leaders and experts from various institutions conducted in-depth exchanges and sharing. They jointly discussed the future trends of innovative design in the intelligent era, the concepts and practices of design education, shared their experiences and achievements in talent cultivation, project practice, and discipline competitions, and explored feasible solutions for promoting the development of design education through AI+3D.

To allow more students at our university to understand intelligent technology, the Digital Science and Technology Culture Festival of Jiangsu University was also grandly opened, featuring four interactive activities: anime design experience, computer basics knowledge quiz, fun experience center, and fun puzzle games. It attracted hundreds of teachers and students from the university to participate and interact, serving as a grand gathering for scientific exchanges and cultural experiences. It is of great significance in further promoting the spirit of scientists and enhancing awareness of innovation.

As the "main front" and "main battlefield" for technological innovation and talent cultivation, universities and colleges bear the heavy responsibility of cultivating "digital intelligence talents" with innovative spirits and practical abilities. The successful holding of this meeting promoted exchanges and cooperation among brother institutions and art design-related institutions in the Jiangsu Division, and will certainly promote the cultivation of talents in "AI+", making more positive contributions to the development of design art and innovative education in China!
