ZHENG Weiren- Markus Kravanja Paintings Exhibition, an activity of the serial titled Dialogue between East and West was held in Art Moment Gallery in Graz by Confucius Institute，jointly established by Jiangsu University and Graz University. Ms. DAI Lan, Political Counselor, and Mr. DONG Weiguo, Director of Education Affairs Office from Embassy of People’s Republic of China inAustriaattended the opening ceremony. Prof. Daniela Unger-Ullmann, Dean of the Confucius Institute gave a brief introduction to the exhibition.

Over 30 pieces of works produced by Prof. ZHENG Weiren fromSchool of Arts,JiangsuUniversity and Mr. Markus Kravanja, an expert in art fromViennawere displayed at the exhibition. Prof. ZHENG’s Chinese traditional paintings presented simple figures with secluded scenery, featured in a good combination of calligraphy and painting. Mr. Kravanja’s oil paintings presented modern life in bright colors with strong decorative flavour. In addition, these two artists cooperated in painting a serial of portraits with Chinese traditional painting tools at the exhibition. All the works exhibited were divided into two serials, analyzed through comparison and finally compiled into a brochure titled Game of Life, illustrating the transmission and development of East and West arts from artistic and cultural perspective, reflecting different philosophies of life.
